If your vehicle has Takata airbags, even a minor collision could result in a violent airbag explosion—blasting plastic and metal shrapnel into the face of the driver and other occupants.
Takata airbags have now been linked to eleven tragic fatalities and more than 150 serious injuries.
This is critically important news for all American drivers, especially if your vehicle or the vehicle of a loved one is one of the millions that have Takata airbags.
Any accident, even a minor one could result in serious injuries or death.
Victims of faulty Takata airbags have suffered all of the following:
Millions of vehicles, from fifteen different manufacturers (BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, GM, Honda, Jaguar/Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen) have been or are in the process of being recalled.

Unfortunately, it is simply impossible for the car manufacturers to remove such a huge number of cars from the road before other drivers and occupants are possibly killed or grievously injured by these dangerous airbags.
The auto parts manufacturer, Takata, produced the faulty airbags. Car manufacturers who installed Takata airbags in their models (especially Honda) are being blamed for not testing these air bags sufficiently before offering these cars for sale to an unsuspecting public.

In what has gone down as the largest automotive recall in history, Japanese-based auto parts supplier Takata is under intense scrutiny as the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recalled an estimated 28.8 million vehicles installed with faulty and potentially life-threatening Takata airbags.
The recalls began in 2008, and the NHTSA announced in May 2016 that it would be expanding the recall to include 35 million to 40 million more vehicles, recalls that will be initiated in five stages up through 2018.
Studies indicate these airbags explode due to Takata’s use of an ammonium nitrate-based propellant without a chemical drying agent to inflate the airbags in case of a collision. Upon impact, the propellant canisters may explode, sending sharp fragments of plastic and metal out of the airbag.
The NHTSA has demanded that Takata phase out the manufacturing of airbags using this dangerous propellant.
