Ryan Swapp is an attorney and the Chief Operating Officer at Craig Swapp & Associates, where he helps lead the firm’s personal injury practice across Utah, Idaho, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, and Arizona. Ryan handles select personal injury cases and works closely with the firm’s attorneys and leadership team to improve case outcomes, client experience, and firm operations.

Ryan’s practice has included serious injury and wrongful death cases involving automobile collisions, commercial truck crashes, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian injuries, bicycle accidents, public transportation incidents, dog bites, and other significant injury claims. He has personally been involved in cases that have resolved for high seven figures and well into the eight figures.

Since becoming Chief Operating Officer in early 2022, Ryan has played a key role in modernizing and strengthening Craig Swapp & Associates. He helped implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System within the firm, creating greater accountability, clearer goals, and stronger team alignment. During that period, the firm has experienced substantial growth, including nearly tripling revenue, significantly increasing revenue per attorney team, improving average case results, and dramatically increasing five-star reviews from satisfied clients.

Ryan’s leadership philosophy is centered on building a law firm that puts clients first. He believes that the goal in every case should be to achieve the best possible outcome for the client, not simply to maximize the firm’s own attorney fee. When a case would benefit from the involvement of a specialist attorney, outside counsel, or a strategic partner firm, Ryan believes Craig Swapp & Associates should make that decision in the client’s best interest every time.

Ryan is also committed to making sure valuable cases are worked up properly and litigated when necessary. He believes that significant injury cases often require a willingness to file lawsuits, develop evidence, retain the right experts, and apply pressure through litigation in order to obtain fair compensation for clients.

In addition to practicing law and leading firm operations, Ryan has a background in software engineering. He has built multiple internal tools used by Craig Swapp & Associates, including intake systems, reporting dashboards, and case management tools designed to help the firm operate more efficiently and serve clients more effectively.

Ryan graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship and earned his Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Outside of work, Ryan has been married for twelve years and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games, working out, and golfing.

“I was concerned with all the paperwork”

Before calling your firm I had 2 big worries. One was I didn’t want to do more paper work, and that fear was resolved when I had to do very little, but Craig Swapp and Assoc. did most of it, and when I did have to come in to sign papers they worked around the times I could do it. Worry 2 was I didn’t want people to think I was “sue happy” and that I was just out to get money. I just wanted my bills to be paid for that were from the accident, and that was resolved I think by Mr. Wes Mortenson and Theresa because they listened to what I had to say.
